How do I get started?

Pick a plan and start a 7-day free trial — no charge to begin. Family covers your whole household from $20/month; Business starts at $50/month for small businesses and teams. Sign up, start a conversation, and pair your own subscriptions whenever you like. The docs walk you through the first steps.

Which apps can I use PrivateForge on?

The web app works everywhere, there’s a mobile app for iOS, and a one-line local connector for macOS, Linux, and Windows that pairs your machine and your own CLI subscriptions. Everything shares one account, so you can pick up where you left off on any device.

What are credits and how do they work?

Credits pay for AI usage on the metered API, priced per model. Family Starter includes 10,000 credits a month (Advanced 40,000) pooled across the household; Business includes 20,000–50,000, pooled per workspace. Run low and the request pauses with a top-up option — see pricing for the full breakdown.

Which plans support BYOK or BYOA?

BYOK/BYOA is available for Business and Enterprise accounts where supported — pair a subscription or key and those runs cost 0 credits, with sign-ins kept in your OS keychain. Family does not include BYOK or BYOA: it’s designed to be simple and non-technical, so family members use the AI access and monthly credits included with PrivateForge.

Is my data private?

Here’s the honest version: your chats and memory route through and are stored by PrivateForge Cloud — that’s what makes history, sharing, and multi-device work. They’re encrypted in transit and at rest, scoped to you, and we don’t train models on your data. Your provider sign-ins and keys stay yours. The Security page spells out exactly what runs where.

How do I add my family or team?

On Family, invite up to 5 members from Settings — everyone gets their own login and private memory on one plan, the household shares a unified family memory that knows who’s who, and kids get profiles with a parent dashboard and credit limits. On Business, one shared workspace holds your projects — share each project with the people who need it; plans start at $50/month with a pooled credit allowance.

How do I manage billing or change my plan?

Upgrade, top up credits, or cancel anytime from Billing in your account settings. A Family account can upgrade to Business in place without losing chats or connections. Top-ups are one-time purchases — nothing is auto-charged without your explicit consent.

The app won’t sign in or shows an error — what should I do?

Make sure you’re on the latest version, check your network connection, then sign out and back in. On mobile, install the newest build. If it still happens, reach us with the steps you took and the email on your account, and we’ll dig in.

How do I export my data or delete my account?

From your account settings you can export your data or delete your account; deletion removes your conversations and memory. If you’d like a hand, contact us and we’ll help.
